2018 RAM 1500 Power & Handling

Many 2018 RAM 1500 trims come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine. This engine manufactures 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. However, some variants of the truck have a standard 5.7-liter V8 engine that will get you 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. If you are interested in driving a diesel, then there is a 3.0-liter diesel V6 engine available. This engine produces 240 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. Every 2018 1500 engine is paired up to an eight-speed transmission.

2018 Ford F-150 Power & Handling

Like with the 2018 RAM 1500, several engines are available for the 2018 Ford F-150. There's a new 3.3-liter V6 engine that creates 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. That engine comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. There's an attainable turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 that will get you 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. There's also a 5.0-liter V8 that produces 395 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. This truck offers more towing and hauling capability than is often needed, which means you would be paying for more than you need.

2018 RAM 1500 Features & Design

Eleven trim levels are available for the 2018 RAM 1500. We realize that is a lot, and we will not go into detail about all of them here because we'd hate to keep you all day. However, we will tell you that the base Tradesman has cruise control, a Class IV hitch receiver and a spray-in bedliner. The next trim level up, the Express, has body-colored exterior trim, 20-inch wheels and carpeting. Both the Tradesman and Express allow for flexibility with cab and bed configurations.

2018 Ford F-150 Features & Design

The 2018 Ford F-150 offers six main trims: base XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited. If you would like a decent work truck out of the base trim then you would have to purchase it with the 101A package. If you're seeking the best balance between an everyday pickup truck and luxury, then you will have to go for the Lariat trim, and if you are on a budget but also need that trim then the 2018 Ford F-150 may not be the best truck for you.
