The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers a terrific balance of luxury and capability. It's a great-looking SUV that's designed to go anywhere. How can you be sure that it's the right vehicle for you? The team at Rockland CDJR put together this 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee review to help drivers in New City, Nanuet, and Pearl River decide.

Grand Cherokee Specs

The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers four powerful engines. The base powertrain is a 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine that gets up to 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It can also tow up to 6,200 pounds. To haul more cargo, there's the 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine. It uses its 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque to tow up to 7,200 pounds.

For the same kind of towing capacity and a more athletic drive, there's also a 6.4L SRT® V8 engine. It handles like a sports car with 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The most powerful engine available is a Supercharged 6.2L V8 engine that generates up to 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. In addition to towing up to 7,200 pounds, it can go from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.5 seconds.

Off-Road Capability

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is designed to tackle all sorts of terrain and driving conditions. The available Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System can help your SUV adapt with selectable driving modes, such as snow, mud, and sand.

There are several 4x4 systems to choose from, including Quadra-Drive® II. It provides you with reliable traction with a Rear Electronic Limited-Slip Differential and can transfer 100% of torque to either one of the rear wheels.

It's also ready to go off-roading. High-strength steel skid plates are available as well as the Quadra-Lift® Suspension System. This suspension gives the Grand Cherokee a 10.8-inch ground clearance. With that kind of height, you'll be able to drive through up to 20 inches of water and conquer hills with a 26.2-degree approach angle.
