2020 Grand Cherokee Configurations: Engine Options
Most Jeep Grand Cherokee models come standard with a 3.6L Pentastar® V6. This engine boasts 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque and is powerful enough to tow up to 6,200 pounds when properly equipped. It comes standard and is the only option for the Laredo E, the North Edition, the Upland and the Altitude.
The same engine is standard for the Limited, the Trailhawk, the Limited X, the Overland, the High Altitude, and the Summit. These vehicles are also available with the upgraded 5.7L V8 engine. Opt for this motor to get 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, plus a towing capacity of 7,200 pounds when properly equipped.
Meanwhile, the exhilarating Grand Cherokee SRT comes with a 6.4L V8 engine that allows you to go up to 160 MPH thanks to its 475 horsepower.
Want still more power? Go from 0 to 60 MPH in 3.5 seconds with the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine under the hood of the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. This high-performance machine offers 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque.

Grand Cherokee Drivetrains
A 4x4 drivetrain is available on every 2020 Grand Cherokee configuration. In fact, it comes standard on many of the trims, while all other models can also opt for a 4x2 drivetrain.
For even more versatile performance, there are four separate 4x4 systems to choose from in the Grand Cherokee. The Laredo E and the Altitude come standard with the Quadra-Trac I® 4x4 System that provides full-time 4WD.
Quadra-Trac II® comes standard on the Limited, the Trailhawk, the Limited X, the Upland, the Overland, the North Edition, the High Altitude, and the Summit models. It's also available on the Altitude. Thanks to a 2-speed low transfer case, this system can automatically send power to whichever axle has more traction.
A Quadra-Drive® II system is standard on the rugged Trailhawk and available as an upgrade on the Limited, the Overland, and the High Altitude. Thanks to a rear Electronic Limited-Slip Differential, this full-time 4x4 system can send all its torque to a single rear wheel if needed.
The Grand Cherokee SRT and the Trackhawk, meanwhile, come with a Quadra-Trac® Active On-Demand 4WD system. This is similar to the Quadra-Drive II® but built to handle large amounts of torque.
