The team at Rockland Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram has explored all the Ram 1500 trims for you. Take a look at how they compare to each other and then contact us to come check them out for yourself!

Ram 1500 Tradesman

Let's start with the base-level trim, the Ram 1500 Tradesman. This trim level comes with actually quite a lot of standard equipment. For example, it comes standard with several features that can help you tow, like:

  • Trailer-tow wiring with 4- and 7-pin connector
  • Class III hitch receiver
  • ParkView® Rear Back-Up Camera

The ParkView® Rear Back-Up Camera can help you align your hitch and trailer. It displays a live video feed of the area directly behind your vehicle on the 5-inch Uconnect® 3 screen. The Uconnect® 3 system is compatible with Bluetooth® wireless connectivity. This allows you to take hands-free phone calls or stream music from your phone directly through your truck's speakers.

The cabin features a vinyl 40/20/40-split front bench seat, and on the exterior, you'll get stylish accents like a Black grille, Black front bumper, and 18-inch steel wheels.

Big Horn/Lone Star

With the Big Horn/Lone Star trims, you'll get select Tradesman features. You'll also get a variety of updates to the exterior. For example, these trims trade out the standard steel wheels for aluminum ones. You'll also get chrome bumpers and Big Horn or Lone Star badging. The grille is still Black, but now it's surrounded by chrome.

On the inside, you can wrap your hands around the leather-wrapped steering wheel as you settle in for a long drive.

As for capability, 4-wheel drive (4x4) models replace the available electronic shift-on-the-fly part-time transfer case from the Tradesman trim with an electronic shift-on-demand transfer case.

Rebel Trim Level of the Ram 1500

Next, we have the Rebel trim level. While it comes with many of the features from the previous trims, the Rebel is full of attitude. You'll notice this as soon as you open the cabin door and see the unique Black interior trim with Red accents.

The front seats replace the bench seat with bucket seats and the driver can adjust their seat 12 different ways. Four-way power lumbar support provides added comfort.

You'll see many capability upgrades with this trim level, including the addition of a Class IV hitch receiver, Bilstein® off-road shocks, tow hooks, and a 1-inch raised ride height. Plus, Hill Descent Control will help you drive down steep grades while towing without wearing out your brakes.

Ram 1500 Laramie Trim

With the Laramie trim level, your Ram truck gets a lot of upgrades to the interior tech. For example, it replaces the Uconnect® 3 system with the Uconnect® 4 system. This comes with:

  • 8.4-inch touchscreen display
  • Apple CarPlay®
  • Android Auto™

The sound system gets upgraded, too, to a 10-speaker premium audio system with subwoofer that really gets the party pumping.

As for the front seat, it's a bench seat instead of bucket seats, but you'll still have the 12-way power adjustable driver and front-passenger seats with lumbar support. Plus, this trim level comes with heated and ventilated front seats, so you'll be comfortable all year long, no matter what kind of weather the season brings.

Laramie Longhorn

The Laramie Longhorn comes with select Laramie features, but it also makes the cabin unique. Its Laramie Longhorn-specific premium leather trim and wood interior treatment really give the cabin that first-class feel. The front bucket seats are covered in premium leather and are also heated and ventilated. The rear seats are heated in this trim level, too.

You'll get a few driver-assistive features with this trim, including ParkSense® Front and Rear Park Assist. This system can help you parallel park by issuing an alert if you're getting too close to the vehicle in front of or behind your Ram 1500.

Ram 1500 Limited

Just like the Laramie Longhorn, the Limited comes with a unique trim-specific premium leather and wood interior treatment, including a leather-wrapped and real-wood steering wheel. The Uconnect® 4C NAV system sits squarely in the center stack of this trim level and includes a 12-inch touchscreen.

The 12-inch vertical display provides split-screen capabilities so you can access your music up top and control your climate on the lower portion of the screen. However, if you need to view the integrated navigation system's directions more closely, you can expand the picture to fill the whole screen.

Other driver-assistive tech comes standard with the Limited, including Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Path and Trailer Detection. Blind Spot Monitoring alerts you to other vehicles in your side blind spot so you'll know if it's unsafe to merge or change lanes. With Trailer Detection, this coverage will also extend along the length of your trailer.

On the exterior, the Ram 1500 Limited has an even more aggressive stance thanks to the 20-inch cast aluminum wheels with premium painted inserts.
