Jeep Wrangler 4xe Maintenance Schedule

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe brings lower emissions and efficiency to the world of off-roading. At Rockland Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, we understand the significance of regular maintenance for the Jeep Wrangler 4xe.

Usually, Manufacturers break down all the maintenance needed based on time and mileage intervals to prevent wear and tear with time and use. Keep reading to learn about which maintenance services your Jeep Wrangler 4ex needs and when.

At Every Oil Change

Regular oil changes are a key aspect of maintaining the optimal performance and longevity of any vehicle. Your Wrangler 4xe’s automatic is equipped with an oil change indicator system, which monitors various operating conditions such as frequent short trips, extreme temperatures, or towing, and then alerts you when it's time for an oil change.

Once this indicator lights up, schedule the maintenance within the next 500 miles. Keep in mind that you should always change your oil before you exceed 10,000 miles or 12 months of driving, whichever comes first.

At this interval, you should also change the oil filter, inspect the CV/ Universal Joints, rotate your tires, and inspect the following:

  • Battery and clean and tighten terminals if required
  • Brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, hoses, and parking brakes
  • Engine cooling system protection and hoses
  • Exhaust system
  • Engine air cleaner filter. This is important if you usually drive in dusty or off-road conditions.
  • Door latches. Look for the presence of grease and re-apply if necessary

Keeping an eye on oil changes and inspections will maintain your Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s performance at its peak.

Every 20,000 Miles or Two Years

Once this interval comes, inspect the front suspension, tires, and rear suspension. You should also replace the cabin air filter and inspect the front-rear axle fluid and brake linings. Lastly, adjust the parking brake if your Jeep Wrangler 4xe is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes.

Every 30,000 Miles or Three years

During the 30,000-mile or three-year interval, it is important to check the transfer case fluid. Additionally, it's recommended to change the manual transmission fluid if your vehicle is used for specific heavy-duty purposes like trailer towing, snow plowing, heavy loading, taxi, police, commercial service, off-road adventures, or desert operation. You should also do this if more than 50% of your driving is at sustained high speeds during hot weather, exceeding 90°F.

Every 100,000 Miles or Ten Years

Every time you drive 100,000 miles or every ten years make sure you inspect the PVC valve and replace it if necessary.

Before a Long Trip

If you’re planning to take a long road trip on your Jeep Wrangler 4xe check engine and fluid levels including coolant and windshield washer fluid. You should also check the tire inflation pressure and look for irregular wear. Lastly, check the function of all interior and exterior lights.
